DownCity Design’s 2021-22 MET Design/Build Studio interns designed seating and game tables for West Elmwood Housing’s Sankofa Community Garden! The benches feature built-in garden beds with lattices for shady vines, and game tables with laser cut chess boards. The students also built and designed modular hexagonal benches to create an adaptable seating area. These structures will provide a space for community members using the garden to rest, gather, and enjoy a game.
