YOUTH PROGRAMS


 
 

Summer Lead Design Educator | Full -Time / Temporary

DownCity Design is searching for paid Design Educators to co-lead daily design programs for high school students in the summer. The DownCity Design Summer Design Studio program is a unique collaborative summer program for Providence County high school students that takes place at PCTA (Providence Career and Technical Academy). DownCity Design (DCD) educators and staff will work together to design and deliver a 6-week experience that will get students excited about design, provide concrete STEAM skills, and empower youth to make an impact in their communities. Deadline Extended - Accepting rolling applications — please apply as soon as possible. All applications must include a resume, cover letter, and a minimum of 3 portfolio samples.

We're always looking for people with a passion for youth and community-based design who also have some of the following skills. Feel free to submit an application even if there are no job postings listed.

  • Teaching, mentoring, or advising youth

  • Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop, Illustrator, & InDesign)

  • 3D modeling in Google SketchUp, Rhino, or similar programs

  • Design / Build experience and carpentry skills

  • Construction and project management skills

  • Industrial design, graphic design, user experience design, or architecture background

  • Digital fabrication and rapid prototyping skills (3D printing, laser cutting, etc)
