YOUTH PROGRAMS
Design Educator | Part-Time
DownCity Design is searching for paid Youth Design Educators to co-teach in our design studios. All studios take place throughout the academic school year, starting in late September and ending in early-June.
Extended deadline to apply is September 15, 2024. All applications must include a resume, cover letter, and a minimum of 3 portfolio samples.

Teaching Assistant| Part-Time
DownCity Design is searching for paid Teaching Assistants to assist in our design studios. Although some design experience is preferred, a Teaching Assistant’s main role is to get to know students and support their educator. All studios take place throughout the academic school year, starting in late September and ending in early June.
Extended deadline to apply is September 15, 2024. All applications must include a resume and a cover letter. While portfolio samples are not required, if you have a portfolio we would love to see samples of your work.

Robotics Club Coach | Part-Time
DownCity Design is looking for a Robotics Coach to mentor a group of Providence high school students and help get our new club off the ground! The robotics coach will help our students improve their engineering, CAD, and computer programming skills, for our first season of FIRST Tech Challenge robotics competition. This is a paid part-time position that starts in June 2024 and will continue throughout the 2024-2025 school year.

We're always looking for people with a passion for youth and community-based design who also have some of the following skills. Feel free to submit an application even if there are no job postings listed.
Teaching, mentoring, or advising youth
Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop, Illustrator, & InDesign)
3D modeling in Google SketchUp, Rhino, or similar programs
Design / Build experience and carpentry skills
Construction and project management skills
Industrial design, graphic design, user experience design, or architecture background
Digital fabrication and rapid prototyping skills (3D printing, laser cutting, etc)
