Providence Public Library Global Planters

Students in DownCity Design's 2021 Summer Design / Build Studio created accessible garden planters for the Providence Public Library. In just six short weeks, students designed, built, and installed these garden planters in the back patio of the library building. The design features storage space, seating areas, and beds of multiple heights so that gardeners of all ages can enjoy the space. These garden planters will be used as part of PPL’s Library Garden Exchange, an initiative that will create a bridge between gardening and literacy practices, specifically among immigrant and refugee communities in Providence.
